How long have you been working in the travel industry?
I started my career in travel back in 2010 when I began working in reservations and events for several independent and chain hotels. In 2015 I started working in reservations for Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, and have just recently joined the Fred.\ River Cruises team. My love of travel was sparked at a young age, going on many family holidays, and I knew then that I wanted to work in Travel.
What, do you believe, makes river cruising unique?
As the river vessels are much smaller than ocean vessels, there is a much more relaxing and intimate environment on board. There is a greater crew to passenger ratio, which means you can enjoy better and more personal service, tailored just to you.
Are there any rivers or regions that you would particularly recommend?
Provence! I cannot recommend this region high enough, as a self-confessed wine connoisseur, the many vineyards, and historical wine making regions of this area really appeal to me. The region also boasts some incredible scenery, which is perfect for tranquil river cruising, with rolling hills, lavender fields and forests.
What is your most memorable holiday or cruising experience?
Last September I was lucky enough to go on a Fred. Olsen ocean cruise. However the weather was just awful and we'd never seen rain like it. Arriving into the sunshine and warmth of picturesque Aalborg in Denmark, was just incredible and redeemed the terrible weather we left in. We took the summery feeling back on board with us and enjoyed a Sail Away party on the top deck with the memorable sight of Denmark fading into the distance.
What are the unique factors of booking with Fred.\ River Cruises?
We offer a very personal service, and can tailor make river cruise itineraries to be completely unique to the customer. Our team is also very well traveled themselves, and have a vast combined knowledge and experience across the whole of Europe, meaning we can offer advise and recommendations to create your perfect river cruise.
