What's Not Included

Day 1
UK - Vimy Ridge

Depart Folkestone on a Eurotunnel crossing this morning, before journeying on to Vimy Ridge and its memorial to Canadian victory there in April 1917.

The site here is one of the few places on the former Western Front where a visitor can see the trench lines of a First World War battlefield and the related terrain in a preserved natural state.

Lunch will be provided at Vimy, and from here you will continue your journey to Amiens where you will have some free time to explore after checking into the hotel.

Day 2
Amiens - Villers-Bretonneux - Corbie

Begin your day with a visit to the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, scene of bitter fighting in the Spring and Summer of 1918 when the final German offensive was halted and reversed just outside Amiens, leading to the Armistice in November.

From here, continue the short distance to Corbie where you will join the boat "Natalia" and set off downstream towards Amiens, enjoying lunch on board.

Day 3
Amiens - Newfoundland Memorial

Rejoin the vessel this morning in Amiens and continue to follow the river downstream, past Ailly-sur-Somme. After lunch on board, return to the coach and make the short journey back past Amiens to follow the course of the 1916 front line to first visit the Newfoundland Memorial.

Conclude your day at the enormous and stirring monument to the missing at Thiepval.

Day 4
Picquigny - UK

Check out of the hotel this morning before re-embarking at Picquigny, before concluding at the lovely village of Long. Having enjoyed lunch on board, rejoin the coach and head for your return crossing this evening.
