On arrive in Mandalay, be met and transferred to the RV Samantha and enjoy a welcome reception.

Day 3
Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma) - Amarapura, Myanmar (Burma)

Set out for a full day tour of Mandalay, including the Mahamuni Buddha Temple, Kuthodaw Pagoda and the Shwenandaw Monastery. 

This evening, enjoy a sunset sampan cruise along the U Bein Bridge with a glass of champagne.

Day 4
Sagaing, Myanmar (Burma)

Arrive at Sagaing for a guided tour which includes the Soon U Pnya Shin and Kaunghmudaw Pagoda. 

After the tour you will continue on to Inn-ywa for a tour by horse drawn cart.

Yandabo, Myanmar (Burma) - Bagan, Myanmar (Burma)

Arrive into Yandabo and disembark for a pottery-making demonstration. 

Re-board and continue on to Bagan. This evening you will observe a stunning sunset over Bagan.

Bagan, Myanmar (Burma)

Today you can choose from a choice of shore excursions. 

Option 1: Vitist Mount Popa

Option 2: Enjoy a private horse cart ride 

Option 3: Take a shopping tour through Old Bagan

This afternoon, visit a family-run lacquer-ware workshop and a nearby village.

Tantkyi Hill, Myanmar (Burma) - Salay, Myanmar (Burma)

On arrival into Tantkyi, you will be given time to visit the famous Tantkyitaung Pagoda. 

From here cruise to Salay, where you will visit Yoke Sone Kyaung, the region's oldest surviving wooden monastery. Afterwards, continue sailing to Shinbin Maha Laba Man Paya.

Magwe, Myanmar (Burma)

On arrival in Magwe, disembark your ship and head up to the Mya Tha Lun Pagoda, located atop a hill overlooking the Irrawaddy River, and offering stunning panoramic views.

Minhla, Myanmar (Burma) - Thayetmyo, Myanmar (Burma)

In Thayetmyo, you can enjoy a fascinating tour of the post office, before taking a swing at Myanmar's first golf course.

Prome, Myanmar (Burma)

Disembark in Pyay for a walking tour, where you will see a selection of pagodas, including the imposing Shwesandaw Pagoda. 

Later, you will travel to the south-east of Pyay for an excursions to the ancient ruins of Sri Ksetra.

Myanaung, Myanmar (Burma)

Cruise to the small township of Myanaung where you will disembark for a guided walking tour.

Arrive into Aing Ta Loke and enjoy a local and interactive village tour.

Danupyu, Myanmar (Burma)

Arrive into and explore the township of Danuphyu, before visiting a local cheroot cigar workshop.

Maubin, Myanmar (Burma)

Disembark, for a cruise and walking tour of the township of Maubin. Later, you will set off for Yangon and enjoy a tour of the Shwedagon Pagoda.

This morning, choose from a fantastic range of sightseeing activities to explore the amazing city of Yangon. 

Option 1: Travel by train to the ruins of the Nagar Glass Factory for a guided tour. 

Option 2: Gain an insight into Yangon's burgeoning arts scene with trip to the Pansodan Gallery, Golden Valley Arts Gallery and Art & Deco

Option 3: Embark on a walking tour, with a stroll through Chinatown, the Indian Quarter and downtown Yangon. 

In the evening you will enjoy a Farewell Dinner.

Upon securing a reservation, you will be asked if you have any health or mobility restrictions. Should there be any restrictions; a questionnaire will be made available for completion so that we can assess the suitability of your trip.

Most tours require a reasonable level of fitness to be able to walk on sightseeing trips, navigate along uneven ground and should be able to walk unaided for up to 1.5km.

On some adventure tours, we may visit remote areas and feature activities with varying degrees of difficulty, it is vital to select a tour with an activity level suited to your health and fitness. A good level of fitness is essential for you to undertake walks in hot conditions and over terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces. Some walks will require you to clamber over boulders up to one metre high. It is your responsibility to carry any medication you require for the tour’s duration and consult your local medical practitioner for any health advice.

Your sales consultant will be able to provide more accurate information on walking involved on the specific tour booked.

Dietary Requirements

Your APT Sales consultant can provide you with information pertaining to currency used on tour and throughout the course of your trip. You will also receive a Tour Hints booklet in your documentation pack with an overview of currency you will need and on-board payment types.

Dress Code

Generally, smart casual is acceptable on most tours, however some tours may require/recommend per below:

  • Jacket and tie for Formal nights on board ocean cruising
  • Comfortable and light casual clothing for adventure/safari touring
  • Wet shoes for Kimberley Wilderness Adventure, Outback Wilderness Adventures
  • Comfortable footwear is recommended across all tours.

Some cultures observe specific dress requirements, such as head dress for women. Tour Directors will supply more information on tour on any of these requirements.

Medical Advice

We recommend that you seek medical advice from your local Medical Practitioner, as they will have the most up to date details on appropriate vaccines, tablets and latest medical travel information.

Some destinations do have mandatory health regulations such as areas of Africa require Yellow Fever Vaccinations.
