Brimming with stately 19th century architecture, and the recognizable Chinatown Gate, Portland is the place to see national historic district.

The Columbia River, in southeast British Columbia, flows a total distance of 1,200 miles and can take you on a journey through some of the American continent’s most fascinating natural landscapes. From its source - in the Canadian Rockies - the Columbia River flows through Washington on its way to the Pacific Ocean via Astoria. Along the way, you will be able to admire the dramatic waterfalls that tumble into the 100-mile-long and 3,000-foot-deep Columbia River Gorge. The Columbia River is one of the most hydroelectrically developed in the world, with more than 11 run-of-the-river dams on the main stream and a total of 400 dams overall.

Located strategically along the banks of the Colombia River is one of Oregon’s most historic cities, The Dalles. The town was most renowned for being the end of the Oregon Trail, and was the site where pioneers loaded their wagons onto rafts to sail the Colombia River to Oregon City. Among the stops on The Dalles Old Town walking tour is the Fort Dalles Museum, which houses a collection of military artefacts and medical equipment.

Located west of the Lewiston metropolitan area, across the Snake River, is the city of Clarkston. It is one of the Northwest region’s most inland seaports and is located not far from Hell Canyon – the deepest canyon in North America and known for its scenic surroundings and abundance of wildlife.
