Day 1
Juneau, USA, Alaska

Covering an area the size of which is larger than Rhode Island is the Alaskan capital of Juneau. However, there are no connecting roads to this city, making it only accessible via the sea or air. Upon arrival, discerning visitors are rewarded with access to a charming settlement and a unique way of life. Juneau also provides an ideal point of access for hikers and from which to travel on to the impressive Mendenhall Glacier.

Day 2
Tracy Arm, USA, Alaska

Located near the capital of Alaska, Juneau, is the fjord of Tracy Arm and is best known for the Sawyer Glaciers, which are located at the end of the fjord. Here, it is possible to see brown bears, deer, wolves, harbour seals, and a plethora of birdlife.

Day 3
Frederick Sound, USA, Alaska

Frederick Sound is a passage of water located in the Alexander Archipelago in Alaska. Chances of seeing a whale in Frederick Sound are relatively high, as this area is renowned for having some of the best whale waters in southeast Alaska. Visitors to Frederick Sounds often see humpback whales and a variety of marine mammals and sea birds. Cruising through the passage will present you with breathtaking views of the surrounding snow capped mountains, lush forests and rugged coastlines.

Wrangell, USA, Alaska

Separated from the Alaskan mainland by the narrow Blake Channel is Wrangell Island, a heavily forested island which provides a home to an abundance of wildlife. Specifically, it is home to species such as the Pacific Walrus, polar bears, and grey whales, as well as 400 rare species of plant.

Day 6
Ketchikan, USA, Alaska

Situated at the foot of Deer Mountain, on Revillagigedo Island in southeast Alaska is the beautiful and scenic town of Ketchikan. One of the most intriguing facts about Ketchikan is that it is home to one of the largest collections of standing totem poles on earth, with many of them on display at four major state parks.

Day 7
Inside Passage, Canada/Alaska

The Inside Passage is a navigable waterway route through the network of Pacific coastal islands of Canada and Alaska. This wonderful cruising route can take passengers through some of North America’s finest icy scenery and provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. There will be plenty of opportunities to see a variety of birdlife, whales, and bears during your travels through this wonderful region.

Day 9
Georgia Strait, Canada, BC

Running between British Columbia and Vancouver Island, the Georgia Strait provides a home to a range of wildlife including harbour seals, bald eagles, and orcas. The Georgia Strait will take you to some of Canada’s most charming islands including Alert Bay, Nanaimo, and Telegraph Cove.

Day 10
Friday Harbor, USA, Washington

Friday Harbor is the most significant city on the San Juan Island. The laid back atmosphere of the city soon becomes apparent as you wander the streets, which are surprisingly developed considered the remote location of the island. Friday Harbor is also home to a famous marine research institution, where you will have a good chance of seeing island spotted deer, raccoons, tree frogs, banana slugs, and much more.

Day 11
Anacortes, USA, Washington

Located on Fidalgo Island in Washington State is the city of Anacortes, which provides an ideal point of access from which to travel to the San Juan Islands. This city offers a sophisticated atmosphere, with many elegant restaurants, casual cafes, art galleries and antique shops.

Day 12
Seattle, USA, Washington

Seattle is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest and has been nicknamed the ‘Emerald City’, due to its abundance of evergreen trees and the surrounding Cascade Mountains and Olympic Mountains. While the mountains dominate either side of the city, the centre is dominated by the iconic space needle and a ride to the top will reward you with a fantastic view. Being home to Silicon Valley, it is also an important technology centre, with many renowned firms situated in the city.
